The City of Clearwater Public Art & Design Program wishes to commission an artist or artist team to create an original piece of public art that serves as an icon and artistic landmark for the newly completed Downtown Boat Slips and Promenade. 
This public art commission is open to all professional artists and artist teams residing within the United States.  Artists may apply as a team, but the application should clearly describe the contribution of each collaborator.  Artists living and working within the state of Florida are strongly encouraged to apply, but will not receive special consideration due to their residency.  Budget: $200,000

Eligibility of Submissions - Exhibition at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum is open to any artist or collaborative of artists submitting original works of art or design created within the past three years. Professionals in ALL disciplines are encouraged to submit. Media: Open to any media including but by no means limited to traditional drawing, glass, printmaking, digital/new media, photography, sculpture, painting, installation, etc.
Submission Format - All entries must be submitted digitally via CD. Images must be saved as JPEGS.  The CD itself should be clearly labeled with your contact information: name, address, phone number, and email address.  Also include artist statement and resume.  Please note that CDs will not be returned and will become the property of the Ormond Memorial Art Museum.
Shipping - The artist is responsible for shipping costs to and from the Museum. Call tags for returning artwork should be prearranged by the artist. Specific shipping and labeling details will be included upon notification of accepted entries.
Exhibition Selection Process - Artists will be notified electronically of receipt of materials. The OMAM exhibition selection committee meets annually or biannually to select artists for future shows. Artists will be notified in writing upon selection by committee. No materials will be returned. We look forward to viewing your submission.

Want to share your photographic work with the community?  Want to view other photographer's projects and meet the artists?  "Your Fifteen Minutes of Fame" is the perfect forum!  If you want to be a presenter, you will be asked to email your contact to 15Minutes@fmopa.org and we will assign a date for your presentation.    www.fmopa.org
 
You will have 15 minutes to present your work and respond to audience questions.  You must bring a digital media presentation on a jump drive or dvd for pc for showing during your talk. When the first six slots are full for the event, you will be placed on the following month's schedule or subsequent schedules.  You must be a museum member to sign-up.  Your work can use any form of photographic medium.  We look forward to giving you your 15 minutes of fame!



WHO: THE TAMPA ARTISTS EMPORIUM

A chapbook is a small collection of approximately 20 pages of poetry by a single poet.  YJP founder and editor Gianna Russo created the contest while directing the creative writing department at Blake School of the Arts, a magnet high school.  No longer affiliated with the school, YJP continues to acknowledge and support adult poets across the state and has garnered acclaim as the only statewide publisher of poetry chapbooks.

  Poetry with a Purpose is for Children to write a poem, a rhyme,lyrics, a video, a sketch, a videoed skit or essay, on your personal thoughts about our environment & human survival.  Entries must not exceed 250 words maximum or no longer than 5 minutes in presentation and absolutely no profanity or vulgarity. Prizes Include 2 Grand prizes: winners in each age category win A Dell Pentium Computer donated by Hillsborough Community College.  A Second Place winner receives a 25 dollar prize win in each age category & A Third Place winner Receives a 15 dollar prize win in each age category Prizes will Be Award Ceremony is Sunday Nov. 14th 2010 @ Ybor Art Studio.  Entries can be mailed in or dropped off at the Ybor Arts Studio and Submission Dead Line October is 17th.  all entries must include name of the contestant, signature of parent or teacher acknowledgment of entry, parents phone or contact information, school, age, grade.
